About Us
A former Wesleyan chapel built of Cornish granite in 1842, the historic building has been trading as a fish and chip restaurant for some 80+ years.
Found in the geographical heart of Cornwall, Welcome Stranger sits at the centre point of ‘The Saints Way ’, an historic track dating back to the Bronze Age, when traders and drovers used the route from Padstow on the North coast to Fowey on the South coast to avoid the treacherous waters around Lands End.
Welcome Stranger changed hands in early 2023, and is now in the careful ownership of Marc, with head chef Alex overseeing the daily activities.
